Situation
In conventional world maps, the horizontal centre of the image is usually oriented on the great circle of the equator. The relation between the topic of the map and the centre of the image is thus ignored.
Course of action
Here we come to certain point(s) of view. This project pursued the aesthetic question as to whether, by means of a targeted approach, bound by specific parameters, one might generate unconventional world maps that can be contextualized by a socially relevant choice of topic for each map.
Result
This project was developing a software program (worldmapgenerator.com) that allows us to combine both map graphics and parameters of descriptive geometry in a controlled, explorative process in order to generate the desired world maps.
