Neuromuscular Control

Our movement patterns are influenced by internal and external factors. Our research combines the purely biomechanical perspective with the focus on the organisation and the adjustment of the neuromuscular system.

Both internal factors such as age or gender, and external factors such as orthoses, training parameters or pathologies influence our movement. Appropriate rehabilitation strategies and preventive measures are crucial for optimal injury treatment. In addition to mechanical stability, robust neuromuscular control ensures active stabilisation and protection of the joints.

We use the infrastructure of the Bern Movement Lab, the Bern Mobility Centre and the Bern Pain & Stress Lab for our research.
