Über die Arbeit sprechen Belit Sağ

Belit Sağ (she/they) studied mathematics in Ankara; audiovisual arts and comparative literature in Amsterdam. They were an artist in residence at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (2014/2015, Amsterdam) and International Studio and Curatorial Program (2016, 2019, NYC). Her research-based artistic practice focuses on the relationship between visual representations and political violence. Their current project Remembering Otherwise is an archival research project on labor struggle of a group of migrant women from Turkey in an vegetable processing company in Veghel (NL) in 1978, who were the first migrant women who unionized in the Netherlands. She has presented works at MOMA (NYC, 2025), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam, 2024), documenta14 (Kassel, 2018), MOCA (Taipei, 2019), Flaherty NYC (2018), and Eye Filmmuseum (2017), among others. LI-MA distributes her moving image works. They teach at Sandberg Institute (Amsterdam), Gerrit Rietveld Academy (Amsterdam), and the Royal Academy of Art (KABK – Den Haag).
