Playtime: Trafic
The title is a tribute to Jacques Tati and Monsieur Hulot. Composition students propose an echo of the film "Trafic".
18.01.2024, 6pm–10pm – HKB, Auditorium Ostermundigenstrasse 103, 3006 Bern

The title of our three performances is a tribute to Jacques Tati and Monsieur Hulot. More than 50 years ago, the film Trafic offered a poetic, humorous and profound look at modernity in the 1970s (and Playtime itself is a reference to the master film director and his meticulous craft of staging). Our students in com position/creative practice are more often than not performers of their own work and will propose an echo of this cinematic masterpiece by the French director. Sound, image, light, movement and body are conceived as musical parameters and put into various relations.
Whether using technology or working with purely theatrical or musical means – our students have “carte blanche” to surprise us. This could be a reinter pretation of an old jukebox or a combination of sports and music... The projects are all completed in the
fall semester under the supervision of our teaching staff, and these three evenings are guaranteed to be 100% original and innovative.
