CV

  • Franco Trinca, born in Rome, completed his studies in conducting, composition, piano and choral music at the Conservatory "S. Cecilia" in Rome. Furthermore, he attended conducting masterclasses with Guennadi Rozhdestvensky and Donato Renzetti. During his studies, he was active as a choir conductor and répétiteur at the Italian RAI. In 1989, he won a prize at the "Carlo Zecchi" conducting competition in Rome and, in 1994, he was also a finalist at the "Ansermet" conducting competition in Geneva.

Today, Franco Trinca works as a musical director and lecturer at the Swiss Opera Studio at the Bern University of the Arts. Additionally, he serves as Deputy Opera Director and First Kapellmeister at the Theater and Orchestra Biel Solothurn (TOBS). Simultaneously, he holds the role of artistic director of the Opéra de Chambre de Genève (OCG).

Franco Trinca has conducted over one hundred and forty opera productions in Switzerland and abroad (including in Macau, China, and in Seoul, South Korea). Piccinni's "Finte Gemelle" (Dynamic), Paisiello's "La Frascatana" (Bongiovanni), and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 22 (Pan Classic) have been recorded on CD. His interests extend far beyond music, including disciplines such as philosophy and neuroscience, applied to aesthetics and knowledge (studies at the University of Milan in philosophy).
