  • Dr. Brigitte Kürsteiner is the Head of the Global Engagement Unit at Berne University of Applied Science and a researcher at the Hugo P. Cecchini Institute. She is a lecturer at the departement of geography of the University of Teacher Education Luzern. She is a former high school teacher and has a Master degree in Geography from the University of Berne and a Master of Advanced Study in Intercultural Communications from the Università della Svizzera Italiana. Finally she optained a PhD in Social Politics at the University of Fribourg in the field of posthumanist learning assemblages. Her research interests cover posthumanist pedagogies, mobility learning, transformative global education and education for sustainable development, design thinking and critical pedagogies. Geographically, her research focus is in Subsaharan Africa and Europe. She teaches Social Geography at the University of Teacher Education Luzern.
